My name is Evann Lavender (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I moved around a lot as a child, but have spent most of my life in North Carolina. I received my Bachelors of Psychology from North Carolina State University in 2015, and my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2020. I have a passion for Social Justice, and advocating for all people. I have a background in non-profit and Community Mental Health work. I have experience
working in crisis intervention and intensive outpatient treatment models, as well as working with adolescents with severe behaviors, who are involved in the juvenile justice system, and gang involved adolescents. I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have a passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives back from trauma, and I believe trauma therapy is more important now than ever. I believe the mind/body connection is very strong, and is important in mental health. I am trained in EMDR and I am IFS informed. In my sessions, I aspire to offer a safe, supportive, and empowering environment to my clients, so they can be themselves, and work through whatever is keeping them from being their best selves. I operate through a strengths-based approach, and will try to bring laughter and humor into the sessions (when appropriate) as laughter is the best medicine. Modalities I most often use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness therapy, Somatic approaches, Ecological Systems approaches, EMDR, and IFS. I also incorporate many Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills into my practice. In my free time I love being out in nature, spending time with my kitties, painting, and exploring this beautiful earth! Contact Evann at: evann.kelleycounselingnc@gmail.com 919-307-5752 |
